A bit about me

Annemarie from Ruakaka

Hi my name is Annemarie and I live at the beautiful Ruakaka Beach 🏖️,I'm worldly travelled, retired Assistant Nurse, and SES Rescue worker, as a volunteer 6 years, also Volunteer Hospice Nurse, gaining a Certificate, working Nights in Aged Care, and specializing in Dementia, which I loved, so had paid work, and volunteer work, worked at Redcliffe Hospital in Brisbane Australia and the State Emergency Services, fully trained in any emergency and specializing in Search and Rescue, land search and so on.. I came back to NZ after 30 years overseas, travelling all over Europe and lived in England 3 and a half years.. My careers sadly ended when I ended up a month in ICU on life support, I had Sepsis and ARDs, I nearly died, so a miracle there.
I'm a Christian and love the Lord, I spend a lot of time praising God, and HES extremely important to me.
I have a lovely dog, and cat, previously married, sadly, I didn't know that man, my husband, I wish him well, regardless.
I'm fiercely independent, having travelled the world on my own,so I like my alone time, but also love to meet like minded people..I'm no pushover though,no time for gossiping,or judgemental people, Judge Not,Lest you be Judge...I'm not a well woman, but that doesn't define me...I love to help others if or when I can,I have also had a rather full on traumatic life, but from bad,I turned to good, and I'm currently in the middle of writing 2 books, one is my autobiography as it's pretty intense, and the 2nd is MY experience in NZ's healthcare, only, and putting stories together,as I know I'm not alone,in our sadly broken down health care especially in Northland based on my experience in NZ and health care in other countries..I hope and pray our Govt work hard on a fix,it won't be an overnight fix,it will be very hard, but if nothing's done, stat,it will get alot worse,we are in an aged care nation currently and from my experience Seniors 65 + even 60 yrs and up,seem to fall through the cracks, that saddens me,as I have alot of time for the aged, and my mother,as my Dad has left to reside with the Lord,I miss him.
Life for me is good, yes I have much to do,but in doing what I'm doing,I hope it helps many other people, that's me,I love the beach, having fun,and laughing, enjoying life,as we just don't know,as life is so precious,as it can be taken from us in a heartbeat..So my motto is live each day fully, yes there will be trials, sadness, all emotions and storms, but life isn't about the Storms,it's how you come out of the storm, and the person you become, because if these storms, and I have had many, and it changed my heart completely and the way I look at life, and how extremely precious life is.
That's enough of me,so in a nutshell,I identifying not if what I do,but who I am,and who o am is A child of the most high God 🙏and that is how I made it in life,I didn't do this all alone, for that,I'm extremely grateful...
May you all have a wonderful day, grab it fully, embrace it,and become the person,God made you to be..
Blessings All 🙏💜🕊️

Poll: Have you ever been bullied?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

People associate bullying with children in schools, but it can actually stretch beyond childhood to workplaces or neighbourhoods.

This Friday is Pink Shirt Day, which began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new student was harassed for wearing pink. People across the globe are now encouraged to wear pink on this day to take a stand against bullying and promote inclusivity.

Have you or your whānau ever experienced bullying? Share your thoughts on Pink Shirt Day below.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.
