Whangarei SPCA has got a great many adorable cats and kittens and our cages are overflowing, so we are reducing our cat and kitten prices for the next two weeks. Adult Cats over 5 months $60, Kittens under 5months $110 and a bonded pair of kittens $200. They are all desexed, microchipped, have had at least their first vaccination and been treated for worms and fleas. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
