Hi Tech[?] Scammers are at it again

Peter from Kamo

I was taking an afternoon nap, when my cell phone went off. After I picked up the call, a male computer generated voice said something like "hold a few seconds for a few more questions" and then a female computer generated voice began telling me that this was the IRD calling and that a lawsuit had been filed against me for [whatever - I stopped listening at this point and hung up].
The computer generated voices were very high quality as far as that sort of thing goes.
So now some of the scammers don't even use call centres in India any more .... and, incidentally, this is the first time scammers have called my mobile phone. I'm used to them trying it on on the landline.

Say goodbye to tyre waste

Tyrewise

About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Find out more about the scheme online.
