Household battery recycling

Oliver Neighbourly Lead from One Tree Point

Hi neighbours, recycling of household batteries (like AA, AAA, 9V etc.) is being trialled in Whangarei at the moment. More than forty businesses (including The Warehouse, Harvey Norman, Mitre 10 MEGA, Arthurs Emporium, Countdown Tikipunga and many more) as well as WDC, NRC and FNDC are participating. The batteries are collected in repurposed paint buckets that are labelled by Eco Solutions, see attached photo.
Please don't put household batteries in the general rubbish anymore - there's now a better way. Please drop them off at your favourite participating shop or collection point. Contact Eco Solutions www.ecosolutions.org.nz... if you need more information, or if you own a business and would like to join. Thanks in advance for helping to keep NZ beautiful.

Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
