Public meeting to discuss NEST helicopter base relocation
We're holding a public meeting to discuss relocation of the Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST) helicopter base from Kensington to the airport in Onerahi.

Sunair Terminal, Whangarei Airport
We are also establishing an Airport Noise Management Committee to provide a way for community noise concerns to be considered and addressed. The committee will include representatives from airport management, elected members and the community.
Applications to join the Airport Noise Management Committee close 13 May 2022.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
