Restricted fire season starts tonight
A Restricted Fire Season will be in place in Whangarei District and the Kaipara District from midnight tonight 22 December 2016.
The restriction will remain in force until weather conditions and fire danger indicators warrant its uplifting, and applies to all land in the Kaipara District and Whangarei District except Matakohe/Limestone and Rabbit Islands where a permanent Prohibited Season is in place.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
