Popular ultra-marathon set to become annual event for West Coast
The successful Resilience Ultra run in Reefton last weekend is set to become an annual fixture in the West Coast town – with nearly twice as many contestants.
Inangahua Community Board chairman John Bougen told a meeting this week the popular event attracted 350 runners and their supporters, and the feedback had been overwhelmingly positive.
"They didn't seem to mind the rain and the mud and the cool weather - they loved the challenge - they were a hardy bunch and very interesting people," Bougen said.
