Check for baby owls in your wood piles
The owners of a North Canterbury bird sanctuary are urging people to look out for baby owls in their wood piles as owlet season begins.
He urges people that if they do find a nest, that they don't disturb it for a month – to fledge from hatching only takes 28 days. Little owls are den nesters, so they look for holes in trees, walls, hay sheds and wood piles.
