Brew Monday
Samaritans is turning Blue Monday into Brew Monday on 18 June, by encouraging people to get together for a cup of tea and a chat, which is a great way to connect with people and improve your mental health.
We live in an age where people communicate by text or online rather than sitting down and having a proper two way conversation with each other. Brew Monday is about encouraging people to take the time to really talk and connect with people in a meaningful way.
Workplaces up and down New Zealand are being encouraged to stage Brew Monday tea and chat events to raise funds for Samaritans life-saving helpline service too, so that for people who feel they have nowhere else to turn, we can always be there.
To support Samaritans text HOPE to 5785 to donate $3 or get together with friends or work colleagues for a cuppa and share your moment on social media using the hashtag #NZBrewMonday.
