Korimako Stream Wastewater Replacement
Kia ora Ngaio residents,
You may be aware of Wellington Water’s work to replace a fragile wastewater pipeline at Korimako Stream over the past few months. The condition of the pipeline worsened significantly due to severe rainfall earlier this year.
Tricky access to the site has meant that we have utilised a helicopter to transport materials and equipment to the site. The project is now in the final stages. Weather permitting, the next helicopter lift is planned for tomorrow morning, 11 November to remove material from site and install erosion protection rock bags. Some excess noise and short-term traffic disruptions can be expected while the helicopter is flying.
We appreciate your ongoing patience throughout the duration of this critical work.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
