I've just been looking at a recent post from Neighbourly, asking about what people 'collect'. My company, TaskMasters, declutters for people downsizing (mainly into retirement villages), and clears estates. We come across so many interesting things that we either sell, send to charities or, as a last resort if there is nowhere for them to go, take them to the tip (which we hate doing). There are so many interesting things that people collect. If you would like us to keep an eye out for anything in the Wellington region (Wairarapa to Wellington to Kapiti) to purchase, I'm sure many of our clients would be happy to sell them. Why Leonie loves lawn bowls
For the uninitiated, lawn bowls may just look like a bunch of people throwing balls up and down a flat piece of grass.
But for Evelyn Page Retirement Village resident Leonie, it is a game of skill that has brought her 40 years of friendship, camaraderie and many fun-filled experiences and memories.
So much so, that she has dedicated most of the last 20-plus years to umpiring the game. It is her way of giving back, she says, and now she is lending those skills to the upcoming trans-Tasman inter-village Ryman Roll Up.

Street Appeal: Support Mary Potter Hospice!
Help us be there for patients and their whānau when and where they need hospice care.
Please support Mary Potter Hospice's Appeal this May. On Thursday 16 and Saturday 18 May there'll be close to a thousand volunteers wearing Mary Potter Hospice bibs and holding collection buckets across the streets of Wellington, Porirua, and Kāpiti.
