Demise of landlines and keeping in touch
Finding it increasingly difficult to keep in touch with neighbours and other locals with the demise of landlines and telephone directories (and their online counterparts such as the Whitepages.co.nz.). If someone cancels a landline how does one make contact? Our neighbourhood is not one where you can chat over the boundary fence. Even if one does have an email address or Neighbourly identity messages send that way may not elicit a response. Very frustrating. In an information age where keeping in touch is supposed to be so much easier, in fact it is completely the opposite.
