Wadestown Toastmasters welcomes guests this Thursday, September 1
Spring is a time for new beginnings, so why not come along to Wadestown Toastmasters’ next meeting, this Thursday, September 1, at 7.30pm, and see what it’s all about?
Toastmasters can help you to:
• overcome shyness
• gain confidence
• feel comfortable speaking to groups.
We meet at St Luke’s Church lower meeting room, 34 Pitt Street, Wadestown (entry down the driveway, on the left), at 7.30pm, and entry is open to residents of all suburbs.
It’s free for visitors, and we love seeing new faces. See you there!

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?
Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
