Katherine Mansfield's Wellington - Redmer Yska talk 14 March
At lunchtime today (14 March) Redmer Yska will talk about his recent book 'A Strange Beautiful Excitement, Katherine Mansfield’s Wellington, 1888–1903’. He will explore how Wellington left an indelible mark on Mansfield. Moving between grubby Thorndon and the green valley of Karori, Yska, himself raised in Karori, retraced Mansfield’s old ways: the sights, sounds and smells of her childhood.
This is the first Public History Talk of 2018. The Public History Talks are hosted by the Ministry for Culture & Heritage History Group at the National Library of New Zealand.They are usually held on the first Wednesday of the month March to November. Please note that this talk is a change from the usual date. Talks in this series are recorded and will be available online
