Severe weather watch: Strong wind for parts of South Island
This Watch is for the possibility that the northwesterly gales will become severe in exposed places in Southland north of Lumsden, the Queenstown Lakes, Central Otago and the Canterbury high country overnight Monday, easing late Tuesday afternoon. People in the affected areas are advised to keep up to date with the latest forecasts in case this Watch is upgraded to a Warning. Keep up-to-date here

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
