Police investigate indecent assault in Queenstown

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Queenstown Police are seeking information from the public after a woman was indecently assaulted in Queenstown on Sunday 8 July.

Just before midnight a woman was indecently assaulted by a man did not know as she walked home from work. The man approached from the public phone boxes outside the Night and Day store on Camp Street as she walked past, and propositioned her.

Several minutes later he followed her on Hotops Rise, and grabbed at her as she walked past Queenstown Resort College. When she verbally challenged him, the man ran back towards Camp Street.

He is described as about 6ft tall, caucasian, and of slim build, with blonde hair, wearing tan-coloured pants and a black hooded jacket.

If anyone witnessed this assault or saw a man behaving suspiciously in the area of the Night and Day on Camp Street around midnight on Sunday, please call Detective Lisa Watt at Queenstown Police Station on (03) 441 1600.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
