Something I love about Mapua...

Shona from Mapua

This morning I wasnt feeling great. But I got myself up and dressed, then went for a good walk around the neighbourhood, including a bit of hill work .I ran into three diferent neighbours, and stopped for a moment to talk. All quite random and quite wonderful, as it turned out. One of those neighbours talked about her husband, who has dementia, and she is struggling to cope. Another has had bowel cancer, has just found her boyfriend has been twotiming , and on top of that her children have recently left home. The third encounter was with a woman who lost her husband earlier this year. She would be considered elderly, except she is fitter and more active and alive than a lot of us, marching resolutely up the hills on this grey and chilly morning. I stopped and talked to all three , and came home feeling not only grateful and fortunate, but also really pleased I had taken the time stopped to talk with all of them. This is what community is, I need it as much as they do!

Do you think changes need made to the current process for building consent? Share your thoughts below.
