Final call for Community Grant applications
Round one of Council’s Community Grants Fund closes on Friday 15 May, so now’s the time to get your application in.
New funding of $200,000 has been allocated to the existing $300,000 fund as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
That means $500,000 is available to sports, recreation, heritage, environment, arts, culture, social services and welfare organisations to provide extra support to community organisations.
The fund of $500,000 is available to allocate over two funding rounds with dates for Round two to be confirmed.
You can apply online and find out more at our website.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
