Checking out after three decades on the checkout
Pat Harrington, known as Mother Superior, describes herself as the oldest teenager at New World Rangiora after more than 30 years working on the checkouts.
Her colleagues will be sad to see her retire, particularly as someone else will now have to step in to test new technology. The theory amongst her workmates is that if Harrington doesn't break the new equipment, it's OK to use.

Went to New World Christmas Eve brought some groceries and as I went to pay a
very kind Lady behind me in the queue reached out and paid for my purchase.
The world still has some wonderful people in it even in these troubled times.
