"I've been teaching myself bird photography for a couple of years now. I usually try to zoom right in on the subject and move around so that I can get rid of any distracting twigs or leaves that might cover the subject or create unwanted shadows. Lately I've been thinking sometimes it's good to put a bit of habitat in, especially when it has such beautiful colours as this winter tree just starting to bud up. Kererū/ wood pigeon (Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae), rocking those golden browns and forest greens."

Now that we are in lockdown the SPCA is not rehousing cats and dogs.

Peepo - "A couple weeks ago we adopted Benjamin Button, now called Peepo. He has been a delight and a half, to say the least, and has grown so big in such a small amount of time! Slowly, he has adjusted to his new home and is now a superb older brother to his little sister, Namnam. The staff at the SPCA were super helpful throughout the entire adoption process, even giving us tips on how to introduce our new kittens. Suffice to say they are now best buddies."
Lock-down can be a little boring so to keep amused I am asking you to post an interesting or favourite picture.
Mine is the Baring Head lighthouse near Wellington.
It is a rugged and beautiful spot, and the light was just right for this picture.

I enjoy my daily walks so would love a family that would be keen to go out, explore with me and show me all the wonderful things out there. I have lots of love to give and like to be with my people. I LOVE food but this love and nose can sometimes get me into trouble. As I want to keep all the cuddles and tummy rubs for myself I am looking for a home as an only dog. Don't be fooled by my size, I can be cheeky and have jumped fences before, so am needing a home that has high fencing. I could live with older kids that are confident around big boisterous ladies like myself. I'm a real sweet heart waiting for a family to pick me. Vaccine bookings
Vaccination centres open again today from 8am.
They will be operating under Alert Level 4 conditions. Because of the need to physically distance, fewer people will be vaccinated and some appointments may need to be postponed.
