Hi neighbours - a keen whitebaiter says he would like to see a licence issued for the practice as the season gets underway.
This season is under the microscope as the Government is pushing ahead with a Bill to propose stronger regulations on the country's indigenous fishery and possible regulation of whitebait fishing in public Conservation areas.
Timaru fisherman Braden Clarke said he's not opposed to sensible regulations - "you could have a license for whitebait fishing like you do for normal fishing."
What are your thoughts? Should a license be issued for whitebait season?
Deadline sale: Best offers in by 2pm Tuesday 8 October 2019.
