Toastmasters Meeting
A quick reminder about the Open Meeting with Dinsdale Toastmasters, Hamilton, New Zealand.
Tues 28th 7pm at the Western Community centre, Hyde ave, Nawton.
Anyone over the age of 18 welcome to attend.
feel free to PM me for more details about the open meeting, the Dinsdale Toastmasters club or Toastmasters in general.
I've been a member of Toastmasters for 27 and a half years and been with the Dinsdale club for almost 25 of them (am the longest serving member, tho our current President is the longest serving Toastmaster, he's been in the organization 5 years longer than me, but in the club for 22 years).
Of our 7 senior members we have a combination of 147 and a half years in Toastmasters but a combination of 115 and a half years in the Dinsdale club (4 of us had been previous members of other clubs). So if you decide to join our club there are several members with a ton of knowledge who can assist you in every aspect of Toastmasters life.
We look forward to hopefully meeting you tomorrow night (28th) however if you are unable to attend the Open Meeting you may attend any Tues night.
See you all soon.
Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
