My Resene Upcycling Award entry

Suzanne from Pirongia - Karamu

We have restored an old villa and used much of the Rimu sarking (boards behind the scrim) to re purpose and make our home unique.
We have learned many skills along the way. We used the Rimu to make unique door frames for all of our interior doors.
Each board was sanded smooth using 40 grit through to 120 grit to bring the very rough surface to a smooth clean look. We then used Resene polyurethane semi gloss to bring out the beautiful features of the wood.
The true beauty is very hard to photograph but we now live among this re purposed wood and appreciate and enjoy the beauty everyday.

Have you heard about this Hamilton petition?

The Team Reporter from Hamilton Press

It frustrates longtime residents Tom Andrews, a former roading engineer who owns Classics Museum and has property interests and Jo Reeder, to see Hamiltonians facing large bills.
