Hamilton is in a prime location for tourists passing through from Auckland to Rotorua and Taupo/Ruapehu - many stop at the Hamilton gardens but besides that there isn't much other reason for them to stay around Hamilton [compared to places like Rotorua and the south island], most of them simply pass through. The idea I have could start small and grow from there - or with the right backing could be done once properly and start big and provide a lot of jobs and income for Hamilton - our slice of the tourist industry which is constantly growing and brings people from overseas wanting to spend their money on something interesting. It could include motels nearby for people to stay longer plus a restaurant and all the associated side-businesses that go with tourist attractions [children's play areas, fitness park etc.]. Maybe even a campground thereby providing something for bored campers to do. Part of the project would cater to the movie industry. Most of it would be linked with camera monitors [with permission from participants] to screens in the restaurant providing interesting entertainment for those who don't want to participate but just want something to do for the day.
It will also be educational and provide a learning experience for those in various aspects of photography, from the average person interested in knowing a little more to working professionals [yes, many of them still have things to learn :) ] It could also be used as a wedding venue or for other functions as it would include themed rooms, medieval, Victorian, etc. as well as a room for high speed photography, a large tank for underwater photoshoots from the side without getting your gear wet, various structures for interesting perspective photos, green screen rooms, places for people to display their work etc. etc.
I couldn't do this [financially] on my own and wouldn't mind sharing all the plans and ideas with someone prepared to take on a project[investment] like this.
People are always looking for something interesting and new to do, who wants to join in on the project?

This year the theme for Get Ready Week is Prepared Kids. We know that when kids are involved in preparing for emergencies and learning about natural hazards, they encourage their families to be more prepared and play a more active role in responding to and recovering from emergencies.

As part of Get Ready Week 2016, we are launching our redeveloped schools resource What’s the Plan, encouraging schools to update their emergency preparedness plans and use the new resource to build resilience as a life skill for their students.

Here are our top tips for Prepared Kids
1. Give the school or day care a list of three people who can pick the kids up if you can’t get there.
2. Talk to your kids in an honest (but not scary) way about what might happen in an emergency, what you can do to keep safe, and what your plan is for if you can’t get home. The more involved they are, the less scared they will be if an emergency does happen.
3. Make a plan with your kids. Sit down together and talk about the things you need every day and work out what you would do if you didn’t have them. Grab a piece of paper and write down what you agree, who you need to contact and things you need to do to get ready.
4. Get your kids involved in getting supplies and checking them regularly. In an emergency you could be stuck at home for three
days or more. You probably have most of these things already, and you don’t have to have them all in one place, but you might have to find them in a hurry and/or in the dark.
