Be our guest!

Waikato Regional Council

Hi neighbours. Is erosion a problem on your farm? Join us in Waikaretu or Cambridge to hear how poplars and willows could be the solution for erosion prone hillsides and streams. Their extensive root systems bind and hold the soil in place, and some varieties also provide shelter and wind breaks.

The field days are 9.45am-1pm. Lunch will be provided. See you on Monday 19 March at 142 Luck at Last Road, Maungatautari, Cambridge. Or come to 1386 Waikaretu Valley Road, Waikaretu, on Thursday 22 March. RSVP by calling 0800 800 401.

See you there!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
