Will you help Henry Nissen celebrate his distinguished firefighting career?
Paihia Volunteer Fire Brigade's Henry Nissen will be receiving his 50-year medal for voluntary service with the brigade, and the public is invited to help him celebrate. All are welcome at the Paihia Fire Station this Saturday, September 24, from 4pm to 6pm.
Nissen originally joined the brigade in 1971 and held roles as station officer and deputy chief fire officer, before becoming chief fire officer in 1992 - holding this crucial role for 12 years.
Current chief fire officer, Rex Wilson, says: “Henry has been a fundamental backbone throughout all of the roles he has contributed to within our brigade, he continues to offer valuable support to all volunteers new and old”.
