Installation of a new and differently configured pump will require modification and replacement of some of the adjoining ageing plant components and pipework. The loss of water from this leak, added to extremely high water consumption due to the hot weather, has put significant pressure on Council’s ability to service demand.
Council’s Utilities Manager Kelvin Hill is asking people to conserve water use over the next 24 to 48 hours to allow the water supply to replenish.
