Cleaning up Welcome Bay Road!

Sarah from Welcome Bay

Hey wonderful people, just checking in with those who want to help me clean up Welcome Bay Road tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday!
Sorry, I know this is late notice :(

The area we have covered so far in the photo are highlighted with blue lines. I am sadden to see rubbish already starting to fill that section of the road.

Thanks to Cecily's hard work today ringing around and organising how we are now collecting this rubbish and how we are getting it to the transfer station (without paying a cent!)

I've received bags from Keep Tauranga Beautiful and will need to know how many people will be helping clean to arrange reusable gloves, hi-vis jackets and buckets for future cleans.

Tomorrow I will be at Kaiwha Road heading towards Waitao Road from 12pm. If anyone wants to arrive earlier I am more than happy to come down, please let me know :D

For those coming please bring gloves (reusable if possible) and/or tongs and water. Please wear supportive, closed in footwear, hi-vis jacket or bright clothing and hat/sunglasses.

Many thanks everyone, hope to see some more faces :D

Shame on You!

Lisa from Otumoetai

This is what greeted workers at Brookfield Sallies yesterday morning. All of it looks like it should have gone straight to the tip, which is what the Sallies will now have to pay to do. Surely whoever does this has no conscience. The Sallies do an amazing job of helping people in times of need and they don't need to be spending any money they receive on doing your dirty work, especially at this time of year.
