Real Help for the Homeless - Want to be part of it?

David from Ohauiti

CONCERNED FOR THE HOMELESS IN TAURANGA?

I know a homeless Maori family of 5 who have been struggling for about a year to find a house to rent and who currently sleep in tents in the park.

Like us, you may have a house with two or three spare bedrooms, but are concerned that if you let a family move in until they can find a more permanent place to rent, it could be a very long wait, and you are just not willing to make that kind of commitment or take such a risk.

Perhaps, if you were part of a group of 4 or 5 people or more who were willing to take turns for 2-4 weeks housing a family such as that above, you would be able to express your concern for the homeless in a really significant way.

Please contact me, David Kidd, at churchofgodslove4@gmail.com or 02041283124 if you do have spare bedrooms you might be prepared to rent short term, and would like to come to a meeting discussing how this idea could really work for the homeless.

WINTERS COMING, so please get back to me ASAP, so we can soon bring good news to a family, hopefully the one I mentioned above.

Please could you tell anyone you think might be interested.

Regards
David

Shame on You!

Lisa from Otumoetai

This is what greeted workers at Brookfield Sallies yesterday morning. All of it looks like it should have gone straight to the tip, which is what the Sallies will now have to pay to do. Surely whoever does this has no conscience. The Sallies do an amazing job of helping people in times of need and they don't need to be spending any money they receive on doing your dirty work, especially at this time of year.
