Change your bins

Barry from Papamoa Beach

If you find that the kerbside collection bins provided by the council are too large or too small for your household use you can switch to smaller bins and receive a $30 discount in your annual rates or get larger bins and pay an extra $100 a year. Google "Change your bin size Tauranga" to find the form on the council website. Your order has to be in before the 31st of May and your new bins should arrive before the 1st of July.

Also, on the website you can make a complaint about damaged bins or missed collections. In my book, missed collections includes bins not emptied properly. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the collection service I suggest that you use the "Additional comments" section of the website to make your feelings known.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
