Lions Book Fair this Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Thanks for the tremendous response to our appeal for books. All collection points are now closed. We have books and jigsaws of exceptional quality and quantity this year. We cover fiction, non-fiction, children’s, teenagers as well as hundreds and hundreds of jigsaws. Also rare and collectable books.
See you this weekend. Tables will be replenished as they clear, so there will be fresh selections during the weekend.

Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
