A Tūrangi camping ground abandoned by a former leaseholder after they went broke owing almost $40,000 in rates could be handed back to its traditional Māori owners - if they can be identified.
The Taupō District Council will meet next week to discuss a recommendation to dispose of 4.8ha of land upon which the Tūrangi Kiwi Holiday Park sits after it was closed suddenly in November 2021.

The Waikato Medical Research Foundation (WMRF) has two funding rounds a year, the first one for 2024 closed yesterday, 30 April, with ten applications received. The second is open from 1 September to 31 October, check out their website for more info see the WMRF link below.
We keenly support the WMRF through the ‘Waikato Medical Research Foundation Fund’, which its board set up with us just on a a year ago for the particular purpose of making it easier for the public to contribute towards the success of the region’s health research sector.

Midday Concert Series 10 May
Kia ora koutou
The next midday concert is at St Andrew's on Friday 10 May from 12-1pm. It will be a two-part concert starting with the brass and wind ensemble 'Blended' followed by the Taupō Strings Orchestra. It's $5 to enter. Bring a friend and see you there. Everyone is welcome.
