Adhering to litter disposal
New rubbish bin and footpath stickers encouraging people to dispose of litter responsibly will soon be appearing around the Taupo district.
The stickers were the result of the 'It's not okay to litter' poster competition which was organised by Taupō District Council last year and which drew over 200 entries. Competition winner Bavneet Kaur was on hand to see the first of them applied and says she is happy to see her work being put to a great cause.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
