Keen on gardening and horticulture? Check out this volunteer opportunity

Hilary from Taupo Central

Do you have green thumbs? We need volunteers who love all things horticultural.

The extensive grounds of hospice house provide a unique environment for patients, their families and the bereaved to pause for quiet reflection or use as an activity base.

The gardening team is responsible for the planning and completing of the maintenance, development and ongoing improvement of the grounds.

We have everything from flower gardens, orchards, lawns, native plants and a greenhouse - with lots of plans for further development.

Want to help out? A perfect opportunity for individuals, gardening groups or companies looking to expand their community profile.  Join with likeminded volunteers and get to work in a very special garden with some of the best views in Taupo

Your commitment can be a one-off investment, short term duration or as an ongoing part of the team.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
