Have you noticed any private jets at the airport?
High-end, big spending tourists, along with the occasional celebrity or two, have been flocking to Taupō’s newly redeveloped airport, but they’re running out of places to park.
According to a Taupō Airport Authority (TAA) report, the number of private jets and charter flights into Taupō Airport are projected to double this year, but overall passenger numbers are down and have not returned to forecast pre-Covid levels.
