Calling all cat-lovers!
Have you got a soft spot for cats?
The SPCA Centre in Renwick is looking for volunteers to help care for their cats. Tasks include socialising and playing with the cats, maintaining cat housing, cleaning litter trays, and assisting staff with laundry.
The SPCA staff also need help walking dogs at times, so if you feel comfortable around dogs and have experience with them, let us know.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
