Meet at Escape to Picton - 33 Wellington Street, Picton. Plaques to be unveiled at four different sites followed by a cup of tea at the Edwin Fox. This event is part of the Summit Marlborough Heritage Festival and will be held on Sunday the 14th of October at 2 p.m.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
