Mapua Community Library Literary Festival

Helen from Mapua

Have you ever wondered how the mind of an author works? How some of your favourite books are crafted?
For those who love words, being invited to share in someone else's experiences or imagination, the Mapua Literary Festival is a special treat.
Held at the Mapua Community Hall over the weekend of 15-17 September 2023, the Mapua Litfest, Celebrating Local Writers, focuses on authors, poets and artists from the Top of the South. We have authors, poets and performers of many diverse genres with wide experiences, and each author is in conversation with other well-known identities.
What a treasure trove to draw from! Check it out on our website mapuacommunitylibrary.com. This weekend is one not to be missed.
Tickets are available online at: mapuacommunitylibrary.com and booklets can be picked up from the Mapua Community Library, Tasman District and Nelson libraries.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
