What happened to kindness?

Lesley from Mapua

Several cars drove past / around a small dog on the road in Mapua around 2pm today, it was very close to being run over. Are people so self-absorbed that they couldn't be bothered to stop and ensure that it was safe??

I need your help. The equivalent of 330 Rugby teams die every year through heart related matters.

Large scale lotteries like the Heart Foundation Lottery are classified as Class 3 Gambling in the Gambling Act 2003 and under the Act, are not allowed to sell tickets using telephone, email or the internet. I have been personally fighting to change this for the last four years.

The government's Public Discussion Document proposes that a change to Class 3 would be considered a minor change to the current law and that Lotteries, like the Heart Foundation and Coastguard, are likely to have a minimal impact on potential gambling harms.

Could you please support this worthy cause

There are three ways you can provide feedback to the Department of Internal Affairs:

1. Email the Department of Internal Affairs at onlinegamblingconsultation@dia.govt.nz
and let them know why you would support us to run the lottery online or via phone.

2. Write a letter to:
Nicola Blackburn
Policy Group
Department of Internal Affairs
PO Box 805
Wellington 6140

3. Complete the online submission form www.dia.govt.nz...

The opportunity to provide feedback or complete the online submission form closes on Monday 30 September 2019.
