Haere rā, Aratere
People gathered at Picton's port, in the hills and on boats to wave goodbye to the Aratere as it headed out of the Sounds for the last time. Captain Chris Woodruff, who was also retiring, said the Aratere was the hardest worker in the Cook Strait fleet.
