New Woodend vegan food truck serves up healthy takeaways
Hey neighbours,
Is there such thing as a healthy Friday night takeaway?
Nolan and Julz McGaw are aiming to prove there is through their new vegan food truck called Planted, which launches on Friday evening in Woodend, North Canterbury.
The McGaws are passionate vegans, but that has not always been the case. Julz McGaw was a dairy farmer and Nolan McGaw was once a meat-fuelled bodybuilder.
Pies, cakes, hot dogs and burgers are all on the food truck menu, but with a healthier vegan twist.
The idea was to provide cheap and easy takeaway options, with less fat.
The food truck officially opens at 73 Main North Rd on Friday, from 4pm to 9pm. It opens at the same location every Thursday and Friday onwards from 4pm to 9pm.
Will you give it a try?

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
