North Canterbury teens selected for Tall Ferns basketball team
Two North Canterbury basketballers are still "in shock" after their inclusion in the Tall Ferns team touring Asia next month.
Charlotte Whittaker, 18, and Esra McGoldrick, 19, who are currently on holiday from their American universities, said they were surprised by the call up.
"I played for the junior Tall Ferns last year and, at 18, I thought it would be at least a couple of years before I'd be considered for the Tall Ferns, so it's just amazing – I still can't believe it," Whittaker says.
