Looking back over her newly-published work, first-time author Laura Melville admits she could have made things easier for herself.
"It would have been so much easier if it had been a [totally] fictionalised tale, but I didn't want to do that, I wanted to acknowledge this district, I wanted to reflect my love for the Waimakariri."
