Mum running Queenstown Marathon for the 'one in 100,000 who can't'
A Christchurch mum has shed 20kg to run her first marathon and represent the one in 100,000 who can’t.
Libby Carmichael Venning is among the expected 11,000 runners taking part in the Queenstown Marathon on Saturday.
The 49-year-old will be delighted to simply finish the 42km on behalf of her daughter, Sacha, who has the autoimmune disease Myasthenia Gravis (MG).
For those with the condition, like 21-year-old Sacha, activity such as running weakens the muscles.
