Raise money for charity by dropping off used bottle caps, metal lids, metal screw tops to Churton Park Community Centre

Churton Park Community Centre

Why not turn your rubbish into dollars for a worthy cause..

As part of a National Lions Club project, the Johnsonville Lions Club collects wine bottle screw tops, the tabs off drink cans and other cans, beer bottle caps and the metal lids off jars and bottles. This metal is then taken to the recycler and the money earned goes to Kidney Kids (kids on dialyisis at Starship Hospital) and is used to fund camps, Christmas parties, education, newsletters, 0800 support line and packs for families.

Churton Park Community Centre (75 Lakewood Ave, Ph 830 4802)  is now a drop off point for your collections!! So bring in those tops and lids etc, Monday to Friday between 10am - 2pm and help raise money for kids on dialysis and their families. We will pass on your collections to Johnsonville Lions, who has over time raised hundreds of dollars for this worthy cause.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
