Pickleball Auckland Central is sponsoring a day of workshops at the Mt. Albert YMCA Easter Saturday. Of interest and open to the public for a $5 admission charge is a demonstration of pickleball by two visiting US experts. Have you wondered what this game with the strange name is about? Are you around this holiday weekend? Show up at Mt. Albert YMCA stadium prior to 9AM to get a rare opportunity to have the game explained by two accomplished internationally recognized medal winners and instructors. See flyer below for details.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
