Vote nears on Waitākere forest closure; public feedback split
The council is to vote on closing the ranges on Tuesday. Its officers are recommending it go ahead as consulted, keeping tracks safe for kauri open, but there there is the possibility councillors might decided to completely close the park.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
