Marlborough Horticultural Society Spring Show - Saturday 23rd September
Please come along to Marlborough's SPRING SHOW at St Christopher's Church Hall next Saturday (23rd) from 10am - 3pm.
There will be exhibition tables of spring flowers, including:
All types of daffodils, including trumpets, large and small cups, doubles and miniatures
Camelias
Rhododendrons and other flowering shrubs
Numerous classes for spring flowers including freesias, calendulas, Iceland poppies and primroses.
Indoor plants
Photographic classes for best close up of a flower, a garden scene or a photo of a flower or plant and
Children's classes -
6 years and under.
C1. Sand Saucer.
C2. Vegetable Novelty.
C3. Vase of Flowers.
C4. Hand drawn picture of a flower.
7-10 years
C5. Sand Saucer.
C6. Vegetable Novelty.
C7. Vase of Flowers.
C8. Hand drawn picture of a flower.
Prizes for the children's section are to be donated by Mitre 10 Mega.
There will be plenty of help available to get your beauties onto the show tables!
There will be numerous sales tables selling young spring plants, perennials etc and displays by the Bonsai Group and the Orchid Society.
Raffles.
Come along and support your local Horticultural Society.
$2 entrance fee or free to all MHS members.

Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? π°π²
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if itβs approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
