Heavy rain for Coromandel Peninsula
A sub-tropical low to the north of New Zealand is expected to approach the Far North today, before moving away to the east on Wednesday. This low is forecast to direct a moist southeast flow across the upper North Island, delivering a period of the Coromandel Peninsula north of Whangamata.
Valid: 18 hours from 9am Tuesday to 3am Wednesday
Forecast: Periods of heavy rain, mainly in the north and east. Rainfall amounts may approach warning criteria (e.g. 50-70 mm in 18h).
