Milk Delivery in Glass.
If you are interesting in having milk available, and even delivered, in bottles here is a little something from Eketahuna Country Meats. If you are interested, fill out the survey (link at at bottom of this post), it's really short, to register interest. If enough interest it may happen out here in Kapiti. Milk just tastes so much better in glass and no more plastic bottles.
In the next few months we are going to launch our full cream milk. This is sourced from friends that farm nearby us in Eketahuna.
The milk will be available at a few locations in Wellington and Masterton.
We will be selling milk at our shop in Masterton at 110a Bentley Street and also at the Riverbank Market in Lower Hutt on Saturdays and at the Habourside market on Sundays.
This will be a refilling option where we will refill a bottle that you bring to us on site - glass bottles will be available for purchase.
Milk that is being refilled into bottles that you supply will sold at $3/litre.
We are also looking at bringing the milkman back if there is enough interest!!!!!!
We are looking to deliver milk weekly to your door along with our meat
This will be available in the Wairarapa and Wellington regions initially.
This will be done as a swap a bottle system, where we swap your empty bottle for a full one and then take it back to our milk factory and wash sterilise it and refill it.
Milk delivered to your door will be $3.50/litre and will only be delivered in our glass bottles. These bottles will be sold at $3.75, with 50c of this price donated to MND Research.
The purpose of this form is for us to gauge interest in either option of receiving our milk. If we get enough interest in each suburb then we will be able to make the delivery option viable.
Please insure that you use the correct post code as this will enable us to ensure that a home delivery system is viable.
We would also appreciate a rough idea of how much milk you would be requiring every week - This will help us to forecast our production and the requirements to make sure we have enough milk to meet the demand.
Can you follow the link and let us know if you are interested.

Driven On The Akatarawa Rd Lately?
If so, its good to know you are still alive and reading this.
We have a function to go to over Christmas up that way and having heard a few hairy stories about the road, I went up there on Thursday to check it out. The road's ok, narrow and winding, but not much worse than a Wellington hill suburb. What was pretty scary was the behavior of other drivers. Three vehicles heading the other way at speed would have crashed into me if I hadn't been pulled off the road. I had pulled in to check the address when a truck came flying past, taking up all of the narrow road at speed. There is no way the driver would have been able to stop had they come around the corner immediately in front of me. The other two drivers came hurtling past as I had turned in to turn around and come back down the hill. They were also driving at speed and taking up most of the road. Coming back down I passed another car coming up and estimate that the safe speed to pass another car was about 30-35 kms.p.h. So, now we're thinking, do we go to the function or not.? Feels a bit like we're taking our life in our hands going up there. Drivers appear to be overconfident, and they are courting serious injury.
